Today I sanctify my creations

I stop calling them "a waste of time''

and I start calling them art

I start seeing them for what they are

an expression of my soul in sounds, images and words

and I defuse the shame that says it's just vanity

I start honoring instead the sacred impulse to express

and I stop calling it "content"

I start calling it a prayer, poetry, practice

and I start appreciating the river of creation

that runs through me

and my body for being the conduit
