Earlier this week, I finally facilitated Primal Play Sisterhood+, a significant step forward for me. For years, I’ve been disheartened by the heteronormativity and lack of inclusivity in many women’s spaces, where straight sexuality is often assumed, erasing the richness of diverse gender and sexual identities.
So, I decided to create the space I’ve been longing for—a sisterhood that feels safe, affirming, and inclusive. A space where feminist, anti-racist, and LGBTQIA+ values are not just upheld but actively centered.
In Sisterhood+, we don't operate under the assumption that everyone is cis and straight. Sensuality and sexual attraction between women are openly named, welcomed, and explored with integrity, rather than hidden or treated as taboo.
Too often, women’s spaces fetishize same-sex sensuality as experimentation or indulgence, ignoring the complexities of identity, oppression, and privilege. This allows straight-identified women to engage in queer behaviors while still benefiting from straight privilege, often without deeper reflection.
Sisterhood+ aims to be a space where we can authentically and vulnerably be together. It is open to all who resonate with the concept of sisterhood, including:
Cis-women in all their diversity
Nonbinary individuals for whom womanness/femaleness is part of their identity—whether socially, personally, or physically
Trans women, our sisters.
Here, the spectrum of gender and sexuality is honored, and everyone belongs without needing to hide or minimize who they are.
What moved me most in our first gathering was seeing participants—some of whom often feel out of place in traditional women’s spaces—relax, open, and reconnect. The longing for an inclusive sisterhood is real, and in this space, we began to embody it together.
I am deeply grateful for the courage, vulnerability, and connection shared. This affirmed for me that inclusive spaces aren’t just necessary—they’re transformational.
If this resonates with you, I hope to see you in a future circle. This is just the beginning.
